Utica, NY (WIBX) - Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente is calling for a meeting with the state regarding flood control measures along Sauquoit Creek.Picente has written an urgent letter to State Department of Environmental Conservation Regional Director Judy Drabicki.

In the letter, Picente says the recent devastating flooding caused by Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee has kept member of municipalities extremely busy with emergency response measures to help impacted residents and businesses.

He says in the aftermath of the two storms, it's important to address the needs of communities along the creek and prepare for the next event, which could happen at any time.
