New York State Police are still investigating a fatal plane crash that occurred Tuesday afternoon in the Town of Remsen.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. a 1946 single engine plane made a nose dive into a hay field near the intersection of Commons and Old Stage Roads.

As a result 74-year-old Jonathan Coxwell of Remsen was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the pilot and lone occupant in the aircraft.

The FAA and NTSB responded to the scene to assist in the investigation. There are no details yet as to the cause of the crash.
