Poland Woman Charged With Welfare Fraud

A Poland woman has been arrested by the Herkimer County Sheriff's Office on felony welfare fraud charges

According to the Sheriff's Office Welfare Fraud Unit, 39-year old Katherine Pomichter allegedly received $3,084 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits from the state she was not entitled to from February 2016 to July 2016.

Pomichter was charged with welfare fraud and grand larceny.

She was arraigned in Town of German Flatts Court and directed to report to the Herkimer County Probation Department for electronic monitoring.
