The Syracuse Police Department says officers were checking out reports of shots fired on East Colvin Street around 9:20 p.m. Monday when they were told that two people had arrived at Upstate University Hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds.

Police say two people told them they were traveling north on Interstate 81 when gunfire hit their vehicle. Officers say the driver went straight to the hospital.
