SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — A sixth person has been arrested in the murder of a man who was shot to death in his Syracuse home in December.

Syracuse police say 33-year-old James E. Smith Jr. was fatally shot on Dec. 12 by a group of men and teenage boys who forced their way into his home.

Five suspects aged 15 to 19 were arrested during January as police investigated the shooting.

A sixth suspect, 25-year-old Michael Smyre, was arrested Thursday on murder and burglary charges. It's not clear whether he has an attorney who could speak for him.
