Investigators are searching for information about the death of a woman found dead in a burning car earlier this week.

Emergency responders were called to the scene of a fire on Swinburne Street in Buffalo, New York during the early morning hours of Monday, November 25, 2013.

Firefighters discovered the body of a woman inside the vehicle, a 2004 Pontiac. Buffalo Police later identified her as 30-year old Desirae James of Buffalo.

The Associated Press is reporting that the Office of Erie County Medical Examiner Tara Mahar has now confirmed that James was murdered.

The Buffalo Police Department is asking anyone with information to text or call them at: (716) 847.2255.  The department also has an active Facebook page for anyone who wishes to contact them through social media.  All calls will be kept confidential.
