BOLTON, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say they've recovered the body of a New York City man who drowned during a family outing on an Adirondack lake last week.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office says police divers searching Lake George found 42-year-old Armando Cordero's body Saturday in about 60 feet of water near an island off the shore of the town of Bolton.

Deputies say Cordero, from Woodside in Queens, was boating last Tuesday afternoon with his girlfriend, his son and his girlfriend's daughter when he went for a swim. Police say he became distressed in the water, went under and didn't resurface.

Searchers were conducted over several days before police divers found his body early Saturday afternoon near Three Brothers Island.

Police say Cordero and his family were vacationing in the village of Bolton Landing.
