PITTSFORD, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities have released the names of a man who was killed and a woman who was injured when their car crashed on a suburban Rochester highway while trying to elude police.

Police in Ontario County say two people in the vehicle were being sought after a pharmacy was robbed Wednesday morning in Farmington, 20 mile southeast of Rochester. Officials say sheriff's deputy spotted the car on Interstate 490 and initiated a pursuit, but then backed off when the vehicle left his sight.

The suspects traveled into neighboring Monroe County, where the westbound car crashed and overturned in I-490's median in the town of Pittsford.

Authorities say the driver, 33-year-old Noah Marinelli of Canandaigua (kan-un-DAY'-gwuh), was ejected from the car and died at the scene. His passenger, 31-year-old Danielle Golding of Utica, is hospitalized in Rochester with serious injuries.
