MILTON, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities have identified two people who were killed in a fiery one-car crash on an upstate New York road last week.

State police say the vehicle was traveling on a road in the Saratoga County town of Milton around 9:30 p.m. Friday when it left the road and burst into flames. When troopers arrived on the scene they found the car fully engulfed.

Two bodies were removed from the car. Troopers say autopsies had to be conducted to positively identify the victims.

Police on Monday identified the victims as two local men: 60-year-old Jeremiah Burke, of Saratoga Springs, and 57-year-old William Bischoff, of Ballston Spa. Troopers say Burke was driving.

Local media report that Burke was a business owner and Bischoff worked in financial services.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.
