Deerfield, NY (WIBX) - State Police and the Oneida Couny Sheriff's Office are still on the scene of an apparent murder-suicide in Deerfield.

State Police spokesman Jack Keller says officials were called by 9-1-1 operators to respond to a domestic incident at 101  Carver Street. "And, as that call came out we had a trooper literally down the road from us here at a vehicle and traffic stop. He was able to clear that stop and he was the first one to arrive at the scene here and that he obviously heard the gunshots and entered the house, so we're waiting to process the scene and also try to figure out what exactly happened," he said.

Keller says the victims appear to have been boyfriend and girlfriend.

He said, "Right now we have a male subject deceased inside the residence. We also had a white female who was transported from the scene to St. E's where she died from her injuries. Right now it appears both victims died from their gunshot wound. I'm not too sure exactly how may to each. It appears at this point that the male had shot the female and then shot himself".

State Police say the male was identified as 27-year old Thomas Anderson Jr. of Utica and 23-year old Kylie Ann Turczyn of Deerfield.

The investigation revealed that Mr. Anderson and Ms. Turczyn had a 4 year-old child in common and had a previous domestic relationship and that Anderson was distraught over their break up .

According to authorities, Anderson went to the Carver Street residence and entered without notice. He engaged in a verbal domestic with Ms. Turczyn and then pointed a highpoint 9mm carbine rifle discharging several rounds killing Ms. Turczyn.  Anderson then turned the gun on himself.

An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday, June 24, 2012 for Ms. Turczyn.  The investigation is continuing.
