Police Investigating Death Of 7-Year-Old Westchester Girl

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (AP) — Police in Westchester County say they're investigating the death of a 7-year-old girl who was found dead inside a home.

New Rochelle police say officers were called to a home around 3:20 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a man bleeding from wounds to his wrist. When officers got inside the home they found a 7-year-old girl dead in her bed.

A cause of death hasn't been determined yet.

Police and an ambulance took the girl's father to a hospital for treatment.

The girl was a second grader at William B. Ward Elementary School. School district officials say grief counselors will be available Wednesday to help staff and students.
