A man is being treated for injuries not considered to be life-threatening after being shot multiple times last night.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 on the 1100 block of Lenox Avenue in Utica.

Authorities believe that there were many witnesses, but few have stepped forward to speak with police.

A small number of fireworks were going off in an area southwest of the shooting within fifteen minutes of the Lenox Avenue incident.  Residents in surrounding neighborhoods have reported hearing both.
