POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say the man who was found slain inside an apartment in a Hudson Valley city was from out of town.

The Poughkeepsie Journal reports police in the city of Poughkeepsie have identified 28-year-old Frederick "Joey" Veitch III as the man who was found dead in a first-floor apartment early Monday morning.

Police say he was from the Ulster County town of Shandaken, in the Catskill Mountains.

The cause of death remains under investigation. Police aren't saying why Veitch was in Poughkeepsie.

A 49-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, both from Poughkeepsie, have been charged with second-degree murder in the death. Both are being held in Dutchess County Jail without bail.
