Oneida, NY (WIBX) - State Police say they understand concerns from the public but they are not yet ready to release additional details regarding the shooting death of Catherine Koestner.

A spokesperson says the investigation being conducted is thorough, and even though the public wants answers, officials must act with due diligence before they release information.

When asked about rumors surrounding the case, officials would not confirm or deny specific allegations being tossed about in public discussion.   Authorities would only confirm that they are doing their best to get out information that is correct, and that may require more patience of those eager not only for answers but for closure as well.

Catherine Koestner was a Proctor High School teacher who died from a bullet wound when she was shot in Old Forge almost a month ago.
