A Utica man was arrested after allegedly leaving his cellphone at a crime scene.

New Hartford Police say 34-year old Daniel Pascasio broke into a building at 2 Campion Road and stole assorted metal valued at $43,000..

They say Pascasio then took the metal to Empire Recycling and exchanged it for cash.

During the burglary, Pascasio left his cellphone behind and police used the information on it to identify Pascasio.

He's charged with burglary and grand larceny.
