BERGEN, N.Y. (AP) — Police in upstate New York are searching for the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that injured several people.

WGRZ-TV reports (http://on.wgrz.com/2sFSA8i ) the crash happened on state Route 33 in Bergen around 9 p.m. Sunday. Genesee County Sheriff's deputies say the driver of a sedan struck a truck in oncoming traffic after trying to pass a van. Police say the truck traveled off of the shoulder of the road.

Investigators say the driver of the van tried avoiding the truck and struck a utility pole and a tree.

Police say the driver of the van and five passengers were taken to a hospital for treatment. Authorities say the two occupants of the truck were not injured.

The sedan driver left the scene.

An investigation is ongoing.
