Police Search For Lost Hunter In Rome [UPDATED]

Oneida County Sheriff's Office Deputies, State Police and New York State Forest Rangers are currently searching for a lost hunter in a wooded area in the Outer District of Rome.

Sheriff Rob Maciol says the hunter is believed to be North of the Walmart Super Center and East of Gifford Road.

Maciol says more information will follow as the search progresses.

UPDATED 11:44 a.m.- The Oneida County Sheriff's Office say a hunter who was lost in a wooded area in the Outer District of Rome has been found.

The 31 year old hunter was located by Deputies and evaluated by members of Rome Fire and AmCare Ambulance for exposure.

He was interviewed by New York State Forest Rangers and refused medical treatment.

State police also assisted in the search near the Walmart Super Center and Gifford Road.
