ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Police in Albany say they're looking for the man who forced his way into an apartment in the city and shot two people.

Authorities say the shooting occurred around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at an apartment house on Washington Avenue. Police say a man entered the apartment and shot a 26-year-old man in the arm and leg and a 21-year-old woman in the abdomen.

Police department spokesman Steve Smith says both are being treated at Albany Medical Center Hospital Wednesday morning and both are expected to survive.

Smith says the gunman appeared to know both victims and there's no threat to the general public.
