UPPER DARBY, Pa. (AP) — Police in suburban Philadelphia have shot and killed a man who posted an online video threatening to kill police and FBI agents as he tried to use his car to run down officers trying to arrest him.

The man was killed Tuesday afternoon in Upper Darby as police ordered him out of his car and he appeared ready to accelerate at officers manning a blockade.

Police didn't immediately release the name of the man, who was wanted for allegedly threatening to kill police and FBI agents in a video posted online.

Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood says the officers feared for their lives and "did what they had to do."
