SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Police say they're investigating the fatal shooting of a teenager who was gunned down on a Syracuse street.

Officials say officers responded around 10:50 p.m. Wednesday to reports of gunshots at an intersection in a neighborhood on the city's south side. When police arrived at the scene they found a male teenager suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was taken to Upstate University Hospital where he died from his injuries a short time later.

The teen's age hasn't been released. Police say his name is being withheld until his family is notified.

No arrests have been announced.
