CAMPBELL, N.Y. (AP) — A 78-year-old New Jersey man has been issued several tickets for an accident that seriously injured a New York state trooper earlier this year.

State police say Kenneth Aukett, of Westmont, New Jersey, has been issued tickets for reckless driving, failing to move over and yield to an emergency vehicle, failure to reduce speed, and driving across hazard markings on the roadway.

Police say Trooper Craig Foglia had pulled over a vehicle on Interstate 86 in the Steuben (stoo-BEHN') County town of Campbell on May 17 when his cruiser was rear-ended by Aukett's pick-up truck.

Foglia suffered serious injuries and spent nearly two months in a Rochester hospital before being released July 12.

Aukett is scheduled to appear in Campbell Town Court on Sept. 18 to face the charges.
