Chicago (WIBX) - Scott McMurry received a postcard from his mom.  That doesn't sound newsworthy, right?

Well, it is if the letter was mailed more than fifty years ago.

Scott is now 71 years old and lives in Virginia.  The postcard was addressed to him at an old Clairmont Lane address in Decatur, Georgia where he spent his youth.  It recently arrived at a Clairmont Lane address, but this time in Daytona, Florida.

When Elizabeth Fulcher saw the mail she noted the date on the postcard, and promptly posted a picture of the correspondence on Facebook.  She had friends help her track down the intended recipient.

When Scott McMurry finally received the postcard he said that he immediately recognized his mom's handwriting.  Ironically, she had written, "We'll probably be home before this gets there" across the top of the card.

No one knows where the card has been hiding for all of these years.
