Power crews are still working to replace a utility pole that collapsed after being hit by a car near the intersection of State Routes 5 and 26 in Vernon this morning.

Oneida County Sheriffs say 22-Year old Kelly Moore of Utica suffered minor injuries after she lost control of her car shortly after 4:00am on February 15, 2013. Steering problems and speed are said to have played a part in the accident.

Oneida County Sheriffs say her car was airborne for about thirty feet before it landed, hitting a stop sign and then coming to rest against a power pole which then cracked in three places.  National Grid crews held the pole together so that Moore's car could be moved.

She was ticketed at the scene for a traffic violation.
