Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente says it’s disheartening to hear that Premier Aviation is closing its Rome maintenance facility and that its employees will lose their jobs as a result.

Picente say Oneida County will do anything it can to help assist with the situation.

Premier will be closing its facility at Griffiss International Airport in Rome at the end of August, leaving nearly 120 people without a job.

The airplane maintenance company opened at Griffiss in November of 2010.
