Price Chopper Raises Money, Food For Local Food Banks

Local food banks across six states are receiving food and money, thanks to Price Chopper's "Check Out Hunger" campaign.

In November and December, customers were asked if they would add small donations to their bills, or purchase set-priced food packages of $5, $10 or $15.

In six weeks, the campaign raised nearly $25,000 and more than 17 tons of food.

Donations will be made to 14 local food banks, including the Food Bank of Central New York, in Syracuse.
