Quarter Of Property Value In New York Considered Tax Exempt
More than a quarter of real property value in New York is exempt from county, city and town property taxes.
That's according to a new report from State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli.
The report shows the total value of the tax exempt properties is $680 billion.
DiNapoli says the percentage of exempt property values range from less than 10% in several municipalities to more than 60% in others.
