Herkimer County Public Health is reporting a confirmed case of rabies.

Officials say a raccoon found in Little Falls was infected with the virus.

Residents are being reminded that all wild animals should be considered to be potentially rabid and that pets should be kept up-to-date with their rabies vaccinations.

Herkimer County Public Health will resume rabies clinics in the spring.

You can find more information about rabies on the Center For Disease Control's website.
