Pet owners in the North Country will soon be able to protect their cats, dogs, and ferrets from a deadly virus.

The Oneida County Health Department will be providing a rabies clinic at the Boonville Fairgrounds on Wednesday, June 22nd, from 6:00 to 8:00pm.

"All dogs, cats, and ferrets need to be vaccinated even if they're kept indoors most of the time," said Bobbi Jo Girven, Rabies Program Coordinator. "Exposure to rabies can occur if an infected bat or other animal gets into the home, or during those brief periods when your 'house pet' is allowed outdoors."

The clinic requires a ten dollar donation for each pet.
