Raging Fire in Whitney Point

Firefighters from two counties are battling a raging, multiple building fire in Whitney Point.

Broome County Emergency Services dispatchers were alerted to the house fire on Page Brook Road at 3:55 a.m. and, minutes later, a second alarm was sounded.

In less than five minutes, a third alarm went out with word that several buildings were involved and firefighters from Greene were called to the scene.

Officials said it appeared the property involved a house and a very large barn.

In the early stages of the incident, there is no word of any injuries, although the initial call indicated someone may have been trapped in the house.
