A community rally was held Tuesday at the Veterans Outreach Center in Utica to support Brightwaters Farms application to grow medical marijuana at its greenhouses on Herkimer Road.

Fred Polsinelli is with Polsinelli Public Affairs, which is representing Brightwaters Farms.  He says it's important to hold events like this to continue to educate the public and dispel any myths that there may be regarding medical marijuana.

Polsinelli says if Brightwaters Farms is selected for the state's medical marijuana program, it would mean 200 jobs for Utica.

The state is expected to issue five licenses for medical marijuana growing operations by the end July.
