The Mohawk Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross has once again came to the aid of several people after a devastating fire in Utica.

A large structure fire broke out on Oneida Street near Hobart Street just before 7 p.m. on Saturday evening. The local Red Cross chapter provided assistance to a total of 27 people following the blaze at a multi-family dwelling.

The fire impacted three total buildings. Both 1403 and 1405 Oneida Street caught fire and 100 Hobart Street did as well. The Red Cross provided financial assistance for food, shelter and other needs. Volunteers will remain available in the coming days for any other needs.
