Whitesboro, NY (WIBX) - Red was all the rage at the Hart's Hill Inn in Whitesboro.

But health, not fashion, was at the heart of today's educational event, that attracted about 500 people.

Luncheon Chair Denise Flihan says there is good reason for that focus, as many still do not know that heart disease is the number one killer of women.

Lauren Mattia, Chairman of the event's corporate challenge, says business sponsorships have helped make the cause a success this year. The donations of five local companies have helped the group touch the lives of more than 250 people.

The event is organized nationally by the American Heart Association. For more information on the Go Red for Women luncheon contact the AHA at: (315) 266.5403 or visit http://www.goredforwomen.org/luncheons.aspx.
