An informal interfaith coalition is working to provide drinking water to residents of Flint, Michigan as the city continues to suffer the effects of lead contamination of its water supply.Those working together include the Flint Jewish Federation, Catholic Charities, Michigan Muslim Community Council, and the Interfaith Leadership Council of Metropolitan Detroit.

Donations of water, money, and time are all being accepted by the more than one hundred thousand residents of city, located less than 70 miles from Detroit.

The city's mayor, Dr. Karen Weaver, met with President Barack Obama at the White House on Tuesday to discuss the crisis.
