Ilion, (WIBX) - As the state considers new gun control legislation, representatives from Remington Arms are in Albany today. along with local elected officials, to lobby against an assault weapons ban.

More than 100 people, including Remington workers, attended a town hall meeting at the Ilion Municipal Building this morning.

Rusty Brown is the Political Action Committee Chairman for the local United Mine Workers, which represents about 1,200  union workers at Remington Arms.

Brown says they'll be presenting a letter to every state legislator that tells all about the jobs at Remington.

Nearly 1,400 people work at the Ilion gun manufacturer.
