Remsen Man Charged With Falsely Reporting An Incident

Utica, NY (WIBX) - A Remsen man is facing charges for allegedly falsely reporting charges of sexual abuse.

State Police say 54-year old Francis Bielby called the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center and reported a 10-year old girl had been sexually abused by her biological father.

Investigators say Bielby made the allegations in an attempt to retain custody of the girl following the death of the child's mother.

Bielby was charged with falsely reporting an incident and endangering the welfare of a child.
