Renewable Energy From Waste, Partnership To Construct Power Plant
Ava, NY (WIBX) - Ava's landfill will soon be going green.
Waste Management will be teaming up with Oneida Herkimer Solid Waste Authority to build a power plant in Ava.
It will use natural gas from organic materials in the landfill to create electricity that will power over 18-hundred homes.
Waste Management currently owns and operates over 130 landfill-gas-to-energy facilities across North America.
The construction project will be completed next year.
