Report: Comets’ Green To Coach NHL’s Canucks
The Sports Network’s Bob McKenzie tweeted Tuesday morning that the Vancouver Canucks and Green were finalizing details of the contract and that an official announcement would come later this week.

Meanwhile, the Canucks twitter feed posted on Tuesday afternoon that they’d be holding a press conference to make a coaching announcement on Wednesday.
Green, 46, played 14 NHL seasons and coached the Western Hockey League’s Portland Winterhawks to a WHL championship before becoming coach of the Comets.
In four seasons with Utica, Green’s Comets made two playoff appearances and had a combined record of 155-110-39-12.
The Canucks are coming off back to back seasons without a playoff appearance. They fired coach Willie Desjardins earlier this month.
