Man Drowns In Canal At Sylvan Beach [UPDATE]
UPDATED 5/3/16 9:05 am State Police have identified the victim as 23-year old Aaron Teater of Verona.
They say Teater was located in the same area where he was last seen. A cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office.
It is believed that a 22-year old man drowned in the Erie Canal in Sylvan Beach late Monday afternoon.
The man had been fishing and reportedly went into the water on his own after his tackle box fell into the water, CNYHomepage.com reported Monday night. A team of divers recovered his body Monday evening.
The man has yet to be identified by authorities.
