Report On Death Of Kurt Wyman Released

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office is releasing the After Action Report into the June 2011 shooting death of Deputy Kurt Wyman.

The report finds the primary reason that Wyman was killed is that Christian Patterson refused countless orders of numerous deputies and negotiators, including Deputy Wyman, to drop his weapon and surrender.

It also found that Wyman heroically and tragically placed the safety and well being Patterson ahead of his own.

The four member review committee says the force used against Patterson was in fact objectively reasonable.

Sheriff Rob Maciol will be holding a news conference this afternoon to address the report.
