(WIBX) – Tanning booths and beds may be even more hazardous to your health than critics first thought.  Researchers have discovered the type of ultraviolet light used in tanning beds may actually reach deep into the skin, causing a high cancer risk.

A recent report in USA Today says scientists exposed skin to the same type of light and in each case, it produced deep injury to the skin. The Food and Drug Administration is considering a ban on tanning beds for anyone under the age of 18.
