It appears the Buffalo Bills and Rex Ryan have come to terms on a five-year contract worth roughly $5.5 million dollars a season to make the ex-Jets head man the new coach in Orchard Park, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Schefter also broke news regarding the Bills' offensive coordinator position:

getting the boot from the Jets. He had early success with young QB Mark Sanchez and appeared in consecutive AFC Championship games. But, in the last four seasons Rex had a 26-48 record. The team was 4-12 in 2014 and harassed by a fan-led effort calling for the coach's ouster, along with GM John Idzik who was also fired.

Buffalo's opening popped up, somewhat unexpectedly, after Doug Marrone opted out of contract. He's currently interviewing for other head coaching opportunities around the league.

The Bills are coming off a 9-7 campaign, their best in a decade, but face uncertainty under center. Kyle Orton has retired and E.J. Manual was pulled last season after a poor start to his sophomore season.
