More than fifty percent of Americans surveyed in a new CNN / ORC poll say that the fact that the Republican Party is in control of the U.S. House of Representatives is bad for the country.

Sixty percent say that Rep. John Boehner should be replaced as Speaker of the House by another Republican.

Fifty-two percent say they disapprove of the job that President Barack Obama is doing. The results are in line with those from polls conducted by the same group regularly over the past several years, hovering between the high 40's to low 50's, but significantly higher than results in March 2008 and February 2009, when only 23 to 39 percent disapproved of the way that Obama was handling his job.

CNN / ORC released results on Monday, October 21, 2013 based on telephone interviews with 841 adult Americans conducted between October 18 - 20, 2013.  The poll had a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
