A Syracuse-based Pit Bull advocacy and awareness organization is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for causing severe injuries to a dog found in Cornhill.

Utica Police say 'cusepitcrew.org have also donated their services  to accept donations for the dog's medical bills, as well as reward money.

Meanwhile, the Utica Police Benevolent Association is donating 500-dollars to help pay for medical bills.

Police say they've received numerous calls from citizens wanting to donate to medical costs and reward money.

The pit bull is being treated for a severe burn that police say was most likely caused by acid or bleach.
