You may think that you know the character who played Alton in "The Blind Side" best as  T-Dog in AMC's "The Walking Dead," but you would just be scratching the surface.  Robert "IronE" Singleton says his message is about positivity.

He added the "IronE" to his name.  The moniker is short, he has said, for "Iron Eagle...an eagle in flight, with an unbroken spirit."  He says it is also for "irony, that which is not expected," because he was not - statistically - expected to survive.

He joined us this morning on WIBX First News with Keeler.  Audio of the interview is posted below:

Singleton grew up in the projects in the inner city and lost his mother to complications related to alcoholism and crack cocaine use when he was eighteen years old.  He says that he met his father twice in his life and that his friends and family have been in and out of jail for most of his life.

"'The Walking Dead' is just an extreme version of the life we live each day."

People are feeling forced to do things they wouldn't otherwise do.

Like the book, his one man show is also called "Blindsided by the Walking Dead," #BBTW.
