The Syracuse-area doctor who was convicted earlier this year of murdering his wife in 2012 has been sentenced.

Dr. Robert Neulander was sentenced to twenty years to life in prison for the death of his wife, Leslie.

Neulander's attorneys had asked for a re-trial, citing juror misconduct in the case.  That was denied by the judge earlier this week.

According to The Associated Press, the judge said that he did not impose the maximum sentence because of pleas for leniency that were made by the victim's family.
