Utica, NY (WIBX) - Utica's former mayor, David Roefaro, is rubbing elbows with some prominent officials. Roefaro just announced that he will be speaking alongside some of President Obama's top campaign staff members at an event at SUNY Albany this Saturday. The former mayor will give the opening remarks at the College Democrats Of New York event.

Roefaro's talk will center on Democratic policies and the role America's youth play in the party's process. In a released statement, Roefaro says although he no longer holds public office, he continues work on ways to improve the lives of New York's young people. Some of the speakers are, Eric Zoberman, National Youth Vote Deputy Director for the Obama Campaign, and Sean Patrick Maloney, a former Clinton Administration staff member, and current candidate for Congress, as well as, State Senator Neil Breslin and Congressman Paul Tonko.
