Rome City Man Injured After Collision With Deer

Town of Westmoreland, NY (WIBX) - A City of Rome man is recovering at a local hospital after surviving a collision with a deer. It happened around 4:20 this morning when, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Offic, 46-year-old Craig Gallant was traveling on his motorcycle on Eureka Road in Westmoreland, and collided with a deer that crossed in front of him.

Officials say Gallant is being treated for back, wrist and leg injuries at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica. Sheriff Rob Maciol says the Westmoreland Fire Department assisted at the scene of the crash.
