Rome, NY (WIBX) - The City of Rome is looking for donation items to send down to victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Rome Mayor, Joe Fusco, says several businesses and City Hall have stepped up and are accepting donations. Later this week, supplies will be delivered to the Staten and Long Island areas.

Participating businesses include the Cornucopia Candles and Toy Shoppe, the Risen Bakery and the State Farm Agency in Ilion.

Fusco says needed items include gas cans, generators, non-perishable food items and electric heaters.

Rome City Hall: Open from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. daily
