Rome Memorial Hospital and Syracuse-based St. Joseph's Health are teaming up.

The two hospitals are announcing an affiliation agreement to expand patient access to needed services and technology.

RMH Board of Trustees Chaiman Dr. Chester Patrick says the signing of a Transition Service Agreement  provides the framework for Rome Memorial Hospital and St. Joseph's to work together to deliver the highest level of quality healthcare services to meet the needs of their patients.

Rome Hospital President and CEO David Lundquist says working with St. Joseph's will provide their physicians with much needed support and resources.

Over the next several month, RMH and St. Joseph's will be working through the details to finalize the agreement and get the necessary regulatory approvals.

Rome Memorial will continue to operate as an independent, separately licensed hospital.
