The Air Force Research Lab in Rome will get a budget increase of $32 million next year.

Congressman Richard Hanna and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand say the funding increase will bring Rome Lab's budget total to more than $215 million for the next fiscal year.

They say the increase is millions more than President Obama requested in his budget.

The lawmakers say the funding will help Rome Lab continue to the lead the nation in cutting edge cybersecurity research.

“Each year, one of my top priorities is to see Rome Lab’s operational budget increase because of the critical work that’s being accomplished there,”  Hanna said. “Since I came to Congress, Rome Lab has received significant increases. I will continue to advocate on Rome’s behalf to ensure the Lab grows even stronger in the coming years.”
